Hagerstown, MD – Head coach Terry Maczko and the BCCC Panthers (18-11; 7-7 MD JUCO Conference) are set, ready loaded to take on Cecil College (21-3; 13-1 MD JUCO Conference) on Sunday in the championship game of the Region XX Tournament. Game time is set at 1 p.m.
The Panthers are definitely on a hot streak defeating the likes of the College of Southern MD 105-80 and last today’s opponent Community College of Beaver County 85-66 to earn a chance at winning the conference championship. Cecil advance to the championship game by defeating Harford Community College 92-77.
This will be the third meeting between the two teams this season. During the regular season Cecil dominated the Panthers 90-72. However, BCCC got the best of Cecil by winning against them in the quarterfinal round of the MD JUCO Conference Tournament 80-75.
Freshman guard Byron Westmoreland (Mervo/Baltimore, MD) put on a showcased how he can take over a game finishing with a game high 31 points to go along with 10 rebounds and three assists.
