Largo, MD – Head coach Terry Maczko and the BCCC Panthers (15-11; 7-7 MD JUCO Conference) are set, ready loaded to take on MC-Germantown (19-7; 8-6 MD JUCO Conference) on Sunday in the championship game of the MD JUCO Conference Tournament. Game time is set at 1 p.m.
The Panthers are definitely on a hot streak defeating the likes of the College of Southern MD 87-76, the number one seed Cecil College 80-75 and last night's opponent Frederick Community College 68-61 to earn a chance at winning the conference championship. MC-Germantown advance to the championship game by coming from behind to defeat Hagerstown Community College 70-66.
The two teams did not meet this year due to the weather canceling the game at the end of the season; however, they are very familiar foes. The Panthers defeated MC-Germantown last season 72-64 at their home on sophomore day.
The Lady Panthers of Baltimore City Community College also advanced to the championship game to take on Allegany College at 3 p.m.. This game is a rematch of last year's championship game which Allegany defeated BCCC by one point, 51-50.
Tickets for the tournament are $10 each day or $25 for a tournament pass. Tournament programs, t-shirts and concessions will be on sale during the event.
