Largo, MD – Head coach Renard Smith and the Lady Panthers (19-0; 11-0 MD JUCO Conference) are back in the championship game of the MD JUCO Conference Tournament for the second year in a row to take on the same opponent Allegany College (19-3; 9-1 MD JUCO Conference). Game time is set for 3 p.m.
The two teams did not meet during the regular season due to the weather; however, BCCC have yet to forget the one point lost in the championship game last year. The Lady Panthers were defeated by Allegany 51-50 in front of a packed house.
That game is all too familiar for the likes of sophomores Charda Lomax (Frederick Douglass/Baltimore, MD), Shavon Scott (Western Tech/Baltimore, MD) and Kiarra Stubbs (Western/Baltimore, MD). “We will be ready and this time it will be different,” said NJCAA All-American Lomax.
The Panthers men's basketball team also advanced to the championship game to take on MC-Germantown at 1 p.m. College.
Tickets for the tournament are $10 each day or $25 for a tournament pass. Tournament programs, t-shirts and concessions will be on sale during the event.
