BALTIMORE, Md. – Baltimore City Community College athletics director Tara A. Owens announced Monday the addition of two administrators, six coaches and an athletic trainer for the 2010-11 athletic year.
“It is with great pleasure that we introduce the new members of the department of athletics,” Owens said. “Our new additions are tremendously talented in their areas of expertise. I am grateful that they have chosen BCCC to continue their professional careers and to develop and mentor our student-athletes”.
Owens added, “We look forward to continued growth and positive strides throughout the year. We have a very knowledgeable staff that understands the true meaning of teamwork, which is a major part of athletics. Panther Pride is a requirement in athletics, and it is being exemplified daily with all of our staff”.
On the administrative side, Owens welcomes sports information director Karen M. Carty and administrative assistant Chris Turro.
Carty comes to BCCC after spending six years in the sports information office at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Va.
