THURGOOD, Md. – The Baltimore City Community College men's and women's cross country teams participated in the Hood College Open on Saturday. The women finished eighth with 244 points, while the men totaled 276 points for a 10
th-place finish.
Victoria Faulkner of Southern Virginia University finished the women's 6K race in 26 minutes and 34 seconds. Harford Community College's Tyler Muse completed the men's 8K course in 27:35.
Tonya Smith paced the women's team by finishing in 35:47.
Courtney Plummer (36:50),
Sumera Billy (38:46),
Sarah Hunt-Fofana (42:51) and
Ariana Bevins (42:52) were the remaining finishers for the Lady Panthers.
For the men,
Timothy Adams led the way with a time of 36:04.
Okechi Onyeje (42:36) was the Panthers' next finisher. He was followed by
Julian Beckles (42:48),
Jones Mortex (43:25),
Courtland Pugh (44:24) and
Theo West (52:30).
The Panthers run in the 2012 MD JUCO/Region XX Championship in Hagerstown, Md. next Saturday at 11 a.m.
