Panthers Knock off Montgomery College in Defensive Battle

Box Score Baltimore,MD- The Men's team knocked off a very good and very tough Montgomery College team on Youth Day last night with a 60-52 victory at the PE Center.  The Panthers found themselves down 22-15 at halftime after shooting a meager 16% on 7-42 from the floor in the first half.  The defense kept the Panthers in the game by holding a Montgomery team averaging 95 points per game to 22 first half points.  In the second half, BCCC put some full court pressure on the Raptors and scored 20 points off 28 forced Montgomery turnovers.  The crowd rallied behind the Panthers to give leading scorer Deion Evans the strength to power through and score 15 points in the seond half.  Evans finished with 21 points and 6 rebounds while Fredrell Jenkins chipped in with 13 points.  Freshman Torrey Brittingham (Stephen Decatur) came off the bench to score 6 points and hand out 7 assists without a turnover.  After a disappointing Florida trip last week, the Panthers improve to 1-3 and 1-0 in the conference.
BCCC will host the Legends Classic this weekend with games slated for 4,6,8 on Friday and 1,3,5 on both Saturday and Sunday.  Teams will include Clinton College (Rock Hill, S
C), Monroe College (New York, NY), Monroe CC (Rochester, NY), Harcum College (Philadelphia, PA), and Northern Virginia (Arlington, VA)
