Box Score 3 BALTIMORE, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College men's basketball team finished 3-0 (4-3) in the Baltimore City Legends Classic at the P.E. Center over the weekend with huge help from the sophomores.
On Friday night, the men defeated Monroe Community College from Rochester, NY72-66. They followed up on Saturday with a win over Clinton College from Rock Hill, SC 96-79. BCCC closed out the weekend on Sunday afternoon with a victory of Northern Virginia 79-71.
In Friday's game, Sophomores Deion Evans and Chad Andrews-Fulton led the Panthers to victory over the Tribunes of MCC each having a double-double. Evans had 20 points and 10 rebounds while Andrews –Fulton had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Haneef Vaughn-Wilson filled up the stat sheet on Saturday with 23 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 assists and 1 block. Joe Hugley helped take down the Clinton College Bears with his own double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Sunday's game started slowly as neither team scored in the first 4+ minutes of the game. Northern Virginia went on to take a 7 point lead at the half 30-23. The Panthers trailed by 16 with 11 minutes to go before making a wild comeback and taking a 13 point lead with 3 minutes to go. Mekhi Bryant hit 3 consecutive '3' point shots and Joe Huglely scored 12 of his 18 points in the second half. Bryant finished with 15 points and 6 assists while Hugley had 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks,
Both the men's and women's team head to Chesapeake College on Tuesday in Wye Mills, MD for 5:00 and at 7:00 pm tipoffs.
The next men's home game will be December 10th at the Ben Williams Classic.
