BALTIMORE, Md. – Taylor Coggot tallied a match-high five kills and hit .300 to lead the Howard Community College volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Baltimore City Community College on Thursday evening at the BCCC P.E. Center. The Lady Dragons won 25-8, 25-12, 25-11.

Howard took the first set easily, but the Panthers put up a fight in the second set. BCCC (0-5) got within one point (8-7) after an attack error by Howard's Awashima Diva. But Diva followed that miscue with a kill and the Lady Dragons outscored BCCC 16-5 the rest of the way.

Things were close to start the third set, but the Panthers could not overcome Howard's offense.

Angela Fischbach and Kechi Amaefule each had four kills for Howard and added four and six aces, respectively. Jackie Allen led all players with 16 assists.

For BCCC, Karinda Felton (Baltimore, Md.) and Sharay Cross (Baltimore, Md.) had two kills apiece, while Shray Roberts (Baltimore, Md.) had a team-high three digs.

The Panthers return to action next Thursday when they host CCBC-Essex at 6 p.m. at the P.E. Center
