Hagerstown CC Runs Past BCCC 80-63

HAGERSTOWN, Md. – The Hagerstown Community College men's basketball team posted an 80-63 Maryland JUCO Conference win over Baltimore City Community College on Saturday night at the ARC Center.

In the first half, BCCC (13-6, 6-3 MD JUCO) led by six points, 29-35, with 1:55 left in the opening period. But Hagerstown (14-1, 8-1 MD JUCO) went on a 7-0 run to take a 36-35 lead into halftime.

The Hawks came out hot in the second half and the Panthers were not able to recover. Hagerstown led by as many as 31 points (76-45) in the second half.

Jasmin Handanovic led Hagerstown with 14 points. Alister Chisholm added 13 points and D'Quan Lynch, Dameatric Scott and Devin Miller each had 10 points.

For BCCC, Brandon Belt (Odenton, Md./Arundel HS) led the way with 21 points. Micah Fraction (Silver Spring, Md./Montrose Christian) had 14 points off the bench and Eric Barksdale (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) had 10. Michael Henry (Owings Mills, Md./Owings Mills HS) grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.

BCCC travels to Howard Community College on Wednesday for an 8 p.m. game.
