Panthers Hold off Harford in 77-74 Win

Brandon Belt was one of two Panther players to score in double figures in the win at HCC.

BEL AIR, Md.Micah Fraction (Silver Spring, Md./Montrose Christian) tallied a game-high 32 points while teammate Brandon Belt (Odenton, Md./Arundel HS) added 19 points as the Baltimore City Community College men's basketball team posted a 77-74 win over Harford Community College on Saturday afternoon at the Susquehanna Center.

With the game tied at 73-all, Fraction hit four consecutive free throws to seal the win for BCCC (15-6, 8-3 MD JUCO). Fraction hit 10 of his 18 field goal attempts and went 11-of-12 from the free-throw line. Belt was 7-of-17 from the field, including 3-of-8 from 3-point range with seven rebounds and two steals.

BCCC took a 43-37 lead into halftime after Fraction drained a 3-pointer with nine seconds left in the first half. Despite several ties in the second half, Harford (8-12, 2-9 MD JUCO) was never able to gain the lead.

Lionel Perkins led the Fighting Owls with 23 points and added eight rebounds and four steals. Jada Johnson had 17 points and Jeff Joynes contributed 10.

Kenny Bey-Brown (Philadelphia, Pa.) scored nine points for BCCC and Eric Barksdale (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) added eight. 

The Panthers host Prince George's Community College at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
