Judd, Panthers Rout CCBC-Essex 96-69

ESSEX, Md. – Quentin Judd (Baltimore, Md./Forest Park HS) scored a game-high-tying 18 points off the bench on 7-of-10 shooting from the field and went 2-for-4 from the free-throw line to help the Baltimore City Community College men's basketball team rout CCBC-Essex 96-69 on Tuesday night. Five other Panther players scored in double figures to bring BCCC's record to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in MD JUCO play.
 
The game started off close in the first half. A pair of free throws by Timon Johnson of Essex tied the game at 12-all with 12:11 left in the first half. But a layup by Will Adams (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep HS) 47 seconds later to give the Panthers a lead they would maintain for the rest of the game.
 
BCCC outscored Essex 36-17 over the last 10:56 of the first half to take a commanding 50-29 lead into halftime.
 
Essex (1-3, 0-1) managed to score 40 points in the second half while BCCC scored 46, but the Knights could not overcome the large first-half deficit.
 
For Essex, Denzel Dulin led the way with 18 points, while starters Shawn Bozier and Johnson each had 10 points. Bozier added a game-high eight rebounds.
 
Akeem Echols (Baltimore, Md./Kenwood HS) , Justin Kuntz (Baltimore, Md./Polk College) and Kendal Williams (Dover, Del./Dover HS) each tallied 13 points. Aaron Parham (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) and Mike Wilson (Philadelphia, Pa./Monroe College) both had 10 points. Sean Farr (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) had a team-high six rebounds and added five points.
 
BCCC hits the road this weekend to take part in the Cape Fear Community College Classic in Wilmington, N.C. The Panthers take on host Cape Fear CC at 7 p.m. on Friday and Brunswick CC at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
