BCCC Men Improve to 5-1 with 79-72 Win over Harford CC

. – The Baltimore City Community College men's basketball team improved to 5-1 on the season and 2-1 in MD JUCO play with a 79-72 victory over Harford Community College (2-4, 0-2) on Wednesday night at the Susquehanna Center.
 
The Panthers got out to an 8-2 lead engineered by two quick threes by Dwayne Brewer (Baltimore, Md./Douglass HS). The teams traded leads throughout the first half, but Harford took a brief four point lead, 34-30, with 3:01 in the first half on a Colby Giacubeno layup. However, BCCC finished the half on an 8-4 run to go into the break tied at 38-all.
 
The second half was all BCCC as the Panthers imposed their will on the Owls and took the lead at the 16:52 mark on a three by Mike Wilson (Philadelphia, Pa./Monroe College). The Panthers would lead by as many as 12 in the second half.
 
The Owls had four players in double figures led by Jeff Joynes with a team-high 18 points. He added seven rebounds and one assist. Malachi Seney and Dimitrious Jelen-Joy had 14 points apiece and Carlos Brown finished with 12 points, six rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal.
 
For the Panthers, Kendal Williams (Dover, Del./Dover HS) had a game-high of 19 points, shooting 7-of-13 from the field and 4-of-9 from the three-point line and he added three assists and two rebounds for the game.
 
Sean Farr (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) contributed 13 points, six boards three assists, three steals and one block, while Quentin Judd (Baltimore, Md./Pensacola State College) came off the bench and dropped 13 points.
 
Brewer, in his first start of the season, ended with 11 points, two assist, one rebound and one block. Wilson finished the game with 10 points, eight boards, five assists and four steals.
 
The Panthers hit the road again on Friday night when they visit CCBC-Dundalk in Dundalk, Md. for a 6 p.m. game.
