DUNDALK, Md. – The Baltimore City Community College men's basketball team routed CCBC-Dundalk 106-83 on Friday night. BCCC (6-1, 4-0 MD JUCO) fired on all cylinders, scoring over 50 points in each half for the first time this season and shot 51 percent (41-of-81) from the field and 41 percent (12-of-29) from 3-point range.
The game started out slow as both teams struggled on the offensive end, but Dundalk (5-3, 1-3) broke the drought first on a jump shot by I'Quille Williams with 18:51 in the first half. The teams traded baskets for most of the first half, but Dundalk took a four-point lead, 28-24, on a Devin Colston 3-pointer at the 8:07 mark.
That would be the last time the Lions would lead as the Panthers outscored them 28-15 in the last 7:59 of the opening period.
Aaron Parham (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) hit a jumper as time expired in the first half to give BCCC a 52-43 lead at halftime.
BCCC scored the first 12 points in the second half and remained in control for the rest of the game. The lead would balloon to 31, 79-48, as
Quentin Judd (Baltimore, Md./Pensacola State College) knocked down a three with 12:35 left in the game.
Five Dundalk players finished in double figures. Kamani Jordan had a game-high 29 points after going 13-of-14 from the free-throw line and recorded five assists and two rebounds. Colston finished with 22 points and eight rebounds.
Victor Vaughn contributed 11 points, eight boards and two assists while Jaris Love also had 11 points, and added five rebounds and two assists. Williams posted a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds.
For BCCC,
Will Adams (Philadelphia, Pa./Towson University) had a team-high 22 points and grabbed four rebounds. Judd finished with 19 points, five boards, two assists and two steals off the bench.
Kendal Williams (Dover, Del./Dover HS) had 14 points, seven assists, two steals and one rebound, while
Sean Farr (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) chipped in with 14 points, five boards, five assists and a block.
Mike Wilson (Philadelphia, Pa./Monroe College) had an all-around game as well as he recorded 11 points and five rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block.
The BCCC Panthers will be on the road against Howard Community College in Columbia, Md. on Monday night for a 7:30 p.m. game.
