FREDERICK, Md. – Maurice Ndour had a game-high 21 points and added nine rebounds and two blocks as the Monroe College men's basketball team defeated Baltimore City Community College 62-61 on Sunday afternoon at the Frederick Community College Roy Rogers Classic.
The game was close from beginning to end, including most of the first half. BCCC (8-3) opened up an 11-point lead, 26-15, after
Aaron Parham (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) knocked down a jumper with 6:32 left in the first half. Monroe (9-5) then outscored the Panthers 15-6 for the rest of the half, giving BCCC a modest two-point lead (32-30) at halftime.
The second half was even tighter, as no team lead by more than five points. BCCC took that five point lead, 46-41, on a 3-pointer by
Kendal Williams (Dover, Del./Dover HS) with 12:40 left in the game. The Panthers led for most of the second half, but Monroe took the lead for good after a jumper by Jaelyn Coston-Johnson at the 1:01 mark.
BCCC struggled on both ends of the court in the final seconds leading to its second consecutive loss.
Stephane Manga finished with 16 points, four rebounds, three assists and two blocks for Monroe.

Sean Farr (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) had 20 points, five boards and one block and
Quentin Judd (Baltimore, Md./Pensacola State College) had 14 points, three rebounds and three assists.
The Panthers host the College of Southern Maryland on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
