BALTIMORE, Md. – Kourtney Anderson (Baltimore, Md./City College) tallied a team-high 14 kills and added three aces and four digs to help the Baltimore City Community College women's volleyball team to a 3-1 (25-14, 25-15, 26-28, 25-23) win over Chesapeake College on Thursday night at the BCCC P.E. Center. With the win, the Lady Panthers improve to 1-1 on the season.
The win marks the first time in head coach Amy Manougian's career that her team won its first home game of a new season. Prior to the match, she was 0-2 in home openers.
Outside hitter Jamira Wilson (Baltimore, Md./Southside Academy) also recorded double figures in kills (10) and led the team with six aces. Setter Rachael Griffith (Baltimore, Md./Western HS) had 20 assists, six digs and one ace, while libero Jaizemeine Ramirez (Baltimore, Md./Woodlawn HS) had nine digs and one ace.
Rodchelle Thompson (Baltimore, Md./Woodlawn HS) contributed five assists, four digs and two aces.
