FREDERICK, Md. – The Baltimore City Community College women's volleyball team opened the 2012 with 3-1 loss at Frederick Community College on Tuesday night at the FCC CougarDome. The Lady Cougars won 19-25, 25-19, 25-9, 25-18.
Sophomore hitter Danielle Standley (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill) led BCCC with six kills. Sophomore hitter Kourtney Anderson (Baltimore, Md./City College) tallied eight digs, five kills and two aces, while sophomore setter Rachael Griffith (Baltimore, Md./Western HS) had a team-high 12 assists and added eight digs and two aces.
Newcomers Jaizemeine Ramirez (Baltimore, Md./Woodlawn HS) and Meleisea Alston (Baltimore, Md./Digital Harbor HS) contributed 10 digs and two solo blocks, respectively.
