BCCC Rolls Past Prince George’s Community College 91-62

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Baltimore City Community College men's basketball team rolled past Prince George's Community College 91-62 on Monday night in the BCCC P.E. Center. BCCC shot 52 percent (33-of-63) and held Prince George's to 34 percent (23-of-67) for the game.

BCCC (13-5 overall) now holds a firm grip in the conference improving to 9-0.   

The Owls (6-9) started the game with an alley-oop from William Johnson to Deandre Leatherwood and PGCC took a 14-10 lead at the 15:08 mark of the first half. The Panthers regained the lead after a three-pointer by Quentin Judd (Baltimore, Md./Pensacola State College) and a layup by Xavier Richards (St. Thomas, U.S.V.I/Gwynn Park HS) that pushed the score to 15-14, which was part of a 8-0 run with 13:22 remaining.  

BCCC did not trail again for the remainder of the game as they went into the half leading 46-34.

BCCC went up by 34 points, 78-44, with 7:48 left in the game on a Kendal Williams (Dover, Del./Dover HS) three-pointer that capped  a 32-10 run. BCCC held Prince George to 28 second-half points on 30 percent shooting (10-of-33) and forced 12 turnovers.

Prince George's two double figure scorers both came off the bench. Gabriel McCray had 19 points and Khari Sewell finished with 12 points.

For BCCC, Judd ended with 19 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Sean Farr (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) finished with 16 points, five boards, five assists and two blocks.

 Williams had 13 points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals. Justin Kuntz (Baltimore, Md./Glen Burnie HS) posted his fifth double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds while adding four assists and three steals.  Mike Wilson (Philadelphia, Pa./Monroe College) chipped in with 10 points and three assists off the bench.

BCCC will be in action on Wednesday night as they host Chesapeake Community College at 7 p.m. at the BCCC P.E. Center.
