ESSEX, Md. – The Baltimore City Community College volleyball team defeated CCBC-Essex in a tough five-set match on Tuesday night 3-2 (18-25, 26-24, 25-23, 6-25, 15-12).  The win gives the Lady Panthers their seventh win of the season, as their record improves to 7-15, 4-7 MD JUCO.

After falling in the first set, the Lady Panthers bounced back to win the next two sets looking to close the Lady Knights out. The Lady Knights jumped out to a 10-1 lead, which propelled them to a convincing fourth set win.

In the fifth and deciding set, the Lady Panthers once again regrouped and played a tough fifth set to battle back and come out victorious. The Lady Panthers were able to avenge an earlier season loss to CCBC-Essex, as that match also went to a deciding set.

Tiffany White (Baltimore, Md./Digital Harbor) recorded her second double-double of the season with a season-high of assists and digs with 26 and 11. 

Iman Scott (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) had a team-high 10 kills to go along with three digs. Rickiara Washington (Baltimore, Md./Digital Harbor) finished with a team-high 14 digs while adding five kills and two aces.

Breiona Garrison (Baltimore, Md./Carver Vo-Tech) and Kheri Mobley (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic) both had five kills, Mobley also contributed with three digs, two solo blocks and one block assists.

Danaira Duncan (Baltimore, Md./Coppin Academy) ended with a season-high 13 digs and Briana Miller (Baltimore, Md./Western HS) had a season-high nine digs on the night.

Jasmine Ashe (Baltimore, Md./Western HS) matched her season-high for solo blocks with four alongside four kills and three aces, Taylor Squirewell (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic) matched her season-high of digs with 12 for the match.

The Lady Panthers will be playing Cecil College at 6 p.m. at the P.E. Center for their last home game of the season.

Briana Miller, Kheri Mobley, Iman Scott and Tiffany White will be honored prior to the start of the game for Sophomore Night.
