BALTIMORE, Md. –
Mike Wilson (Philadelphia, Pa./Monroe College) scored a season-high 34 points connecting on season-high 10 three-pointers (10-of-12) to lead the Baltimore City Community College men's basketball team to a 106-85 win over Anne Arundel Community College on Wednesday night at the BCCC P.E Center.
BCCC (16-8, 12-1 MDJUCO) jumped out early and never looked back. After the Panthers scored first nine points of the game, Anne Arundel finally got on the scoreboard with a layup by Jarvez Pierce with 17:36 left in the first half. BCCC went on a 30-17 run to lead by 20 points (39-19) with 7:21 remaining in the first half.
Wilson went 5-of-6 in the first half from beyond the arc helping the Panthers to go into halftime leading 52-43.
Anne Arundel (13-8) never got into gear in the second half and Wilson continued his hot shooting from three-point range by duplicating his production from the first half. The Panthers led by as many as 29 points in the second half as they ran away with the victory.
The Pioneers were led in scoring by Pierce with 20 points and he added four steals and two assists. Jalen Lester finished with 18 points and eight rebounds and James Aorilio had 12 points and three rebounds.
For BCCC,
Justin Kuntz (Baltimore, Md./Polk College) recorded his sixth double-double of the seasonwith 17 points and 15 rebounds while adding four steals and two assists.
Xavier Richards (St. Thomas, U.S.V.I./Gwynn Park HS) finished with 15 points and three rebounds.
Kendal Williams (Dover, Del./Dover HS) ended the game with 10 points and seven assists and
Akeem Echols (Baltimore, Md./Cecil College) contributed 10 points, six boards, two assists, two steals and a block.
The Panthers will host their final home game of the season on Saturday at 1 p.m. against CCBC-Catonsville at the BCCC P.E. Center. This year's sophomores will be honored prior to the start of the game.
