Thomas Leads Hagerstown CC to 94-80 Win in Region XX Championship Game

HAGERSTOWN, Md. – Donte Thomas had team-highs of 22 points and 12 assists to lead the Hagerstown Community College men's basketball team to a 94-80 over Baltimore City Community College to win the 2013 Region XX Tournament title. Hagerstown advances to the District 3 Championship game on March 9.
 
BCCC ends the season with a 21-10 overall record. It is the third consecutive season that the Panthers won more than 20 games.
 
Hagerstown (28-4) dominated the game from beginning to end and led 52-33 at halftime. The Panthers outscored the Hawks 47-42 in the second half, but it was not enough to overcome the large first-half deficit.
 
Kevin Rameau had 19 points and nine rebounds for Hagerstown, while Antwan Pittman tallied 16 points and five boards. Christian Leach and Antonio Jenifer had 13 and 12 points, respectively. Jerel Carter grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.
 
For BCCC, Akeem Echols (Baltimore, Md./Kenwood HS) scored a game-high 24 points en route to being named to the 2013 Region XX All-Tournament team. Kendal Williams (Dover, Del./Dover HS) and Sean Farr (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) each had 12 points. Williams, who grabbed a team-high seven assists, also earned all-tournament honors.
