BALTIMORE, Md. – The 3rd annual Baltimore City Community College Charm City Volleyball Tournament is set for Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the BCCC P.E. Center. Team check-in is at 9 a.m. and matches start at 10 a.m.
The BCCC volleyball program has partnered with the Side-Out Foundation, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Washington, D.C., for this year's tournament, making it an official Dig Pink® event. The Dig Pink® Campaign is designed to help support and spread awareness about breast cancer and gives event spectators the opportunity to become involved by making donations to the cause and by pinking out the events (i.e. wearing pink to show their support).
The Lady Panthers have set a campaign goal of raising $1,000 and are accepting online donations here. Donations can also be made the day of the tournament. The proceeds from all donations will benefit the Side-Out Foundation.
The tournament will feature six teams in a two-pool, round-robin format. The participants include: Anne Arundel CC, CCBC-Catonsville, CCBC-Essex, Frederick Community College, Howard CC, and host BCCC.
General admission is $4 for the entire day, but fans wearing pink will be admitted at the discounted price of $3.

The Side-Out Foundation
The Side-Out Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was established in 2004 to unite volleyball players and coaches and to have them work toward the common goal of making a significant and identifiable difference in the lives of breast cancer patients and their families. The organization's goal is to advance clinical trials, increase patient support services and educate communities. Side-Out offers practical support for fundraising in addition to educational material for participants in order to help them become effective advocates for breast cancer. It contributes the funds to organizations that serve breast cancer patients, whether it be in the form of research, medical services or patient support.
