BCCC Loses in Rematch versus ASA 91-78

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Baltimore City Community College men's basketball team loss to ASA College 91-78, on Wednesday night at the Pope P.E. Center. 
 
The Panthers (7-7) led for majority of the first half before the Avengers (11-2) took the lead for good. The Avengers went into the break with a 47-42 lead.

BCCC trailed by 20, 70-50 with 12:07 in the second half before putting together a 16-5 run cutting the lead to nine (75-66) with 6:52 remaining in the game. ASA outscored BCCC 16-12 to hold on to the victory.

ASA had five players in double digits, Bishop Daniels led all scorers with 24 points. Josue Celestin had 15 points and Micquell Martin scored 13 points.

Rickey Meekins and Mike McLeod scored 11 and 10 respectively.

For BCCC, Xavier Richards (St. Thomas, U.S.V.I./Gwynn Parks HS) ended the game with 17 points and six rebounds.

Brelin Elliott (Hughesville, Md./Thomas Stone HS) and Jimmy Hamilton (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill Academy) both scored 11 points.

Terry Harris (Baltimore, Md./Kenwood HS) had 11 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals and DaJuan Dent (Columbia, Md./Oakland Mills HS) finished with 10 points, eight boards and three blocks.

The Panthers return home to play Northern Virginia Community College on Thursday, January 9th, at 7 p.m.

General admissions will be $5.00, for BCPS $2.00 and free admissions for faculty and students with a valid college I.D.
