Panthers Win First Conference Game against the Owls 91-78

Sophomore forward John Majors went 9-of-13 from the charity stripe.
Box Score BALTIMORE, MD. - The Baltimore City Community College men's basketball team beat Prince George's Community College 91-78 in their first conference game of the season in the P.E. Center. It was the first game of the season at home after playing their first three games on the road.
 
The Panthers (3-1, 1-0 MDJUCO) and the Owls (1-4, 0-1 MDJUCO) went back in forth in the first half of play, but the Panthers found a way to lead by as many as 12 points (38-26) before going in the break up eight 44-36.
 
BCCC led Prince George's Community College 34-11 at the break.
 
In the second half, the Panthers fell behind by as many as seven, (52-59) before they clawed back into the game with 12:59 left to go in the game.
 
BCCC cut the lead to one point on a few occasions, but it wasn't until there was 6:34 left when DaJuan Dent (Columbia, Md./Oakland Mills HS) would get an offensive rebound and hit a jump shot to put the Panthers up one (75-74).
 
The Panthers would not lose the lead again and finished the game on a 16-4 run.
 
The Owls were led by Robert Tyler II with 20 points. Also scoring in double figures were Donell Diggs with 18 and Malik Sneed with 10. LaVonte Sanders had a double –double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
 
The Panthers were led by Terry Harris (Baltimore, Md./Kenwood HS) who posted a double-double for the third time this season with 18 points and 16 rebounds. Tre' Thomas (Bowie, Md./Riverdale Baptist HS) added 18 points as well to go along with four assists and three boards.
 
Brian Kelley (Lanham, Md./Atlantic Shores HS) ended with his first double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 assists and John Majors (Upper Marlboro, Md./Largo HS) finished with 17 points and nine rebounds.
 
Dent finished with 17 points and nine rebounds. Wright also had three steals.
 
The Panthers will be in action again at home on Friday night, November 15th at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday night, November 16th at 7 p.m. in the P.E. Center, as they will be hosting the Baltimore City Legends Classic.
 
The participating teams will be ASA College, Chesapeake College and Harcum College.
 
The first game will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
 
General admissions for the weekend tournament will be $8, $2 for BCPS and free admissions for all BCCC faculty, staff and students with a valid I.D.
