Box Score LA PLATA, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College men's basketball team was led to victory over College of Southern Maryland 96-76 by
Terry Harris (Baltimore, Md./Kenwood HS) with his 26 points, 22 which came in the first half of Tuesday night's game. BCCC improves their record to 4-3, 2-0 MDJUCO.
Both teams came out strong exchanging baskets and playing with a lot of intensity, all for the making of a great game. After BCCC took a six point lead, CSM (2-4) made four consecutive three-pointers to take a six point lead of their own.
With 8:13 in the opening half, the score was tied at 23. The tide changed as Harris would spark the Panthers to go on a 22-8 run to end the half.
BCCC lead 45-31 at halftime.
The Panthers led by as many as 36 points as they defensively frustrated the Hawks into 30 turnovers and scoring at will.
The Hawks had four players in double figures: Donovan Robinson and LeAndre Eackles scored 11 points and James Day and Zachary Hill scored 10 points.
For BCCC,
John Majors (Upper Marlboro, Md./Largo HS) had 14 points and
Chas Brown (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic HS) ended the game with 11 points, nine boards and two blocks.
Tre' Thomas (Bowie, Md./Riverdale Baptist HS) pitched in with 12 points and five rebounds.
Harris also had nine rebounds, three steals and a block.
The Panthers will return home to the P.E. Center on Saturday, November 22
nd to face Howard Community College at 3 p.m.
General admissions for the tournament will be $8.00, for BCPS $2.00 and free admissions for faculty and students with a valid college I.D.
