Box Score BEL AIR, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College men's basketball team defeated Harford Community College 92-82 in the APGFCU Arena on Tuesday night. BCCC bounced back from their last loss to improve to 5-4, 3-1 MDJUCO.
For the first 10 minutes of the game BCCC took the momentum to neutralize the hostile crowd. The lead went back and forth on a few occasions, but BCCC always found a way to regain control.
In the last 10 minutes of the first half Harford (5-4, 0-1 MDJUCO) took a seven point lead with 7:25 and would lead at the half by five 46-41.
After trailing for the first 7:00 of the second half, the Panthers tied the game at 55 on a lay-up by freshmen
Khyree Hunt-Hawkins (Philadelphia, Pa./George Washington HS). Two possessions later the Panthers took the lead for good on a
Chas Brown (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic HS) dunk.
The Panthers defense stymied the Fighting Owls forcing them into 11 second half turnovers and holding them to 39 percent shooting from the field.
Harford had three players to score in double digits, Jon Warren came off the bench with a game-high 18 points along with eight rebounds. Reserve Jordan Lilly had 16 points and Malachi Seney finished with 11 points.
For the Panthers eight players scored in double figures led by
DaJuan Dent (Columbia, Md./Oakland Mills HS) with 17 points, five rebounds and two steals.
Deion Evans (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep HS) scored 16 points.
Brian Kelley (Lanham, Md./Atlantic Shores) ended the game with 10 points, seven rebounds and five steals.
Tre' Thomas (Bowie, Md./Riverdale Baptist HS) and
Ronald Epps (Baltimore, Md./Digital Harbor HS) both scored 10 points for the game.
Brown finished the game with 13 points and seven boards.
The Panthers will have a nice break before taking the floor again against Allegany College of Maryland on Wednesday, December 10
th at 7 p.m. in Cumberland, Md.
