BCCC Scores a Record-High 121 points in Victory over Montgomery College

TAKOMA PARK, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College men's basketball team scored a record setting 121 points in the 121-71 victory over Montgomery College on Wednesday night. BCCC's previous record was 119 against CCBC-Dundalk in the 2011-12 season. BCCC is currently the fifth seed in the MD JUCO with the win.
 
After the Panthers scored the first two points of the game, the Raptors Telvon Johnson hit a three to give them their only led of the game. The Panthers went on to score seven straight points before breaking the game open with a 29-9 run.
 
BCCC scored a season-high 63 points in the first half of play with shooting a season-high 59.3 percent going 48-of-81 from the field with another season-high 35 assists. The record was previously at 25 which they reached over the last two games.
 
The Raptors looked outmanned and rattled as the Panthers put on a defensive hold by forcing 28 turnovers in the game. The Panthers held the Raptors to 33.3 percent shooting for the game, which is the fourth lowest of the season for their opponents.
 
For the Raptors, they were led Joseph Serrano had 24 points and seven rebounds. Tyler Shelly and Johnson scored 17 and 11 respectively.

For BCCC, John Majors (Upper Marlboro, Md./Largo HS) recorded another double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
 
Chas Brown (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic HS) finished with a double-double of his own with 19 points and 13 rebounds to go along with four steals. Brian Kelley (Lanham, Md./Atlantic Shores) had 10 of the season-high 35 assists in the game.
 
DaJuan Dent (Columbia, Md./Oakland Mills HS) came off the bench to score 14 points and Tre' Thomas (Bowie, Md./Riverdale Baptist HS) had 12 points and four assists.
 
Keon Press (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore City HS) was the spark off the bench ending the game with a season-high 20 points and pulled down seven boards in the game.
