Box Score BALTIMORE, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College men's basketball team loss to Frederick Community College 75-68 in the P.E. Center on Saturday. BCCC falls to 7-8, 4-2 MDJUCO.
The Panthers jumped out to an early 7-0 lead and would match that margin late in the first half before going into the half tied at 35 apiece.
In the second half, BCCC held the momentum for the first 7:00 minutes of the second half before Frederick tied the game at 44 all on a pair of free-throws.
From the 13:23 mark to 10:51 remaining the Panthers were outscored 10-1 trailing by nine (54-45). The Panthers fought back chipping away at the lead before taking a one point lead (56-55) on a three-pointer by
Khyree Hunt-Hawkins (Philadelphia, Pa./George Washington HS) with 7:16 to play in the game.
After four straight free-throws by the Cougars, they led by three and the Panthers trailed for the remainder of the game. The Panthers cut the lead to one with 1:48 to go after
Chas Brown (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic HS) went 2-of-2 from the charity stripe.
The Cougars were led by Taeshun Huffman with a game-high 22 points. Zachary Ogunfolo posted a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds and Marcus Dawkins scored 10 points.
For the Panthers,
John Majors (Upper Marlboro, Md./Largo HS) scored 10 points and gathered five rebounds.
Brown had a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards and Hunt-Hawkins ended with 14 points and five rebounds.
