Box Score BALTIMORE, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College men's basketball team finished 2-1 over the weekend in the 3
rd Annual Baltimore City Legends Classic that was held in the P.E. Center.
BCCC suffered their first home loss of the season on Thursday night against the Harcum College Bears in overtime 94-93.
The Panthers led at halftime was 50-41.The Panthers had 12 offensive rebounds and scored 17 second chance points to build their lead in the first half.
Chad Andrews-Fulton (Philadelphia, Pa./Constitution HS) had 13 points and seven rebounds in the first 20 minutes of play to lead the Panthers.
In the second half the Panthers extended their lead to 12 (74-62), with 7:01 left remaining in the game.
The Bears were resilient and chipped away to make the final seven minutes entertaining for the crowd. They put together a remarkable second half shooting 56 percent from the field and 60 percent from the three-point line as the Panthers just shot 33 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from behind the arc.
With 0:17 left in the game,
Tre' Thomas (Bowie, Md./Riverdale Baptist HS) made 1-of-2 free-throws to give the Panthers an 85-82 lead. On the following possession the Bears guard Jeremiah Livingston drove to the basket for a layup and was fouled as the ball fell through the net.
Livingston made the free-throw to convert the and-one and tie the game at 85 apiece.
The Panthers were outscored 23-11 for the remainder of the game which sent it into overtime.
In overtime the game went back and forth with four lead changes. The Panthers took their final lead of the game with 0:22 seconds left on a pair of made free-throws by freshman guard
Mekhi Bryant (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury HS).
With the score 93-92 in favor of BCCC, Harcum College's Milik Gantz made the game-winning layup with 0:09 seconds left in the game.
Harcum College (4-0), were led by Elliott Smith who had a game-high 26 points and 13 rebounds to go with four blocks. Livingston finished with 19 points, seven assists and six rebounds and Gantz had 15 points, a game-high eight assists and six rebounds.
For the Panthers, Andrews-Fulton ended the game with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Bryant scored 15 points going 4-of-7 from the field and a perfect 3-of-3 from long range.
Haneef Vaughn-Wilson (Philadelphia, Pa./Constitution HS) lead all reserves with 13 points and
Fredrell Jenkins (New Orleans, La/JS Clark HS) also off the bench chipped in with 12 points.
Kelvin Howard (Temple Hills, Md./Dematha HS) contributed with 11 points, seven rebounds and four blocks and
Ryan Trafton (Baltimore, Md./Heritage HS) had 10 points and seven boards.
On Wednesday November, 18
th the Panthers will host the Cougars of Frederick Community College in the P.E. Center for Youth Day at 4 p.m.
General admission will be $5, $2 for BCPS and free admission for BCCC faculty, staff and students with valid I.D.
