Box Score BALTIMORE, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College men's basketball team won their first conference win of the season against Frederick Community College on Wednesday afternoon in the P.E. Center on Youth Day.
The Baltimore City youth came out in waves to support the BCCC student-athletes as the men's team hosted their first conference game of the season.
For the second game in a row the Panthers struggled to find the basket shooting 20 percent from the field (6-of-30) and 48 percent from the free-throw line (10-of-21). Not only
did the Panthers struggle to score points, but they had nine turnovers to add to the offensive turmoil.
Defensively, the Panthers forced 18 first half turnovers and kept the Cougars (0-5, 0-1) from attempting any free-throws.
With that both teams went into the break tied at 25.
The second half was better for BCCC (5-2, 1-0) who made more attempts and kept being the aggressor in getting to the charity stripe (11-of-14). BCCC also took better care of the ball only having three turnovers in the second half.
The Panthers trailed by six twice, once early to start the half and the last with just over 9:00 to go in the game. The Panthers used a 13-1 run to take a six point lead of their own at 59-53 with 4:35 left on the clock.
With the game tied at 61 with 1:23 remaining, sophomore forward
Ryan Trafton (Baltimore, Md./Heritage HS) drained a big three-pointer from the left corner to give the Panthers the go-ahead lead.
For Frederick, Jacob McIntosh tied for the game-high 16 points to go along with 10 rebounds.
For the Panthers,
Chad Andrews-Fulton (Philadelphia, Pa./Constitution HS) had a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Tre' Thomas (Bowie, Md./Riverdale Baptist HS) finished the game with 14 points and Trafton ended with 11 points and seven boards.

st the Panthers will be on the road to face Anne Arundel Community College in Severn, Md. The game will start at 3 p.m.
