ROCKVILLE, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College men's basketball team survived a late scare in their victory over Howard Community College 83-80 in the first round of the MD JUCO Tournament.

Freshmen guard Wilmer Johnson (New Castle, Del./William Penn HS) was fouled on a three-point attempt and hit all three free-throws with 2.0 left in the game.

Tre' Thomas (Bowie, Md./Riverdale Baptist HS) led all scorers with 22 points cashing in on all four of his three-point attempts.

The Panthers will be in action against the top-seed Frederick Community College Cougars on Saturday, February 14^th at 8 p.m.

The top-seed Lady Panthers will play on Saturday, February 14^th as well at 1 p.m. against Hagerstown Community College.

The MD JUCO Tournament is being held at Montgomery College on the Rockville Campus. The address is 900 Hungerford Dr. Rockville, Md.
