Summerdale, Pa. – The Baltimore City Community College volleyball team was defeated on Saturday afternoon by Central Penn College 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-16) in their season-opener.

The Lady Panthers fought valiantly and were close in every game.

For the Lady Panthers, Alyn Sankar (Baltimore, Md./Kenwood HS) and Courtney Crawford (Lanham, Md./Archbishop Carroll HS) had a team-high seven kills. Sankar also had two solo blocks and Crawford had a team-high five solo blocks.

Charlida Basarath (Baltimore, Md./Dulaney HS) finished with four kills, three digs and two aces.

Jasmine Alston (Baltimore, Md./Mervo HS) led the team with 16 assists and recorded three kills and three digs and Roxanne Dorsey (Baltimore, Md./Poly HS) had a team-high 14 digs alongside three kills.

The Lady Panthers will be back in action on Tuesday night September 1^st, at 6 p.m. in La Plata, Md. against College of Southern Maryland.
