Box Score WYE MILLS, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College women's volleyball team defeated Chesapeake College 3-1(20-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-23) on Tuesday night. The win gave BCCC their first conference win of the season.
The Lady Panthers in the last two matches have looked like a totally different team that is ready to finish the season strong. Against the Lady Skipjacks, the Lady Panthers won 54 points on their serve, 14 coming from
Jasmine Alston (Baltimore, Md./Mervo HS) and
Roxanne Dorsey (Baltimore, Md./Poly HS) apiece.
BCCC scored on 57.4 percent of their serves.
LaShay Stackhouse (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) led the team with four aces and
Charlida Basarath (Baltimore, Md./Dulaney HS), Alston and Dorsey served three aces apiece.
Alyn Sankar (Baltimore, Md./Kenwood HS) ended the game with 13 digs, two aces, two kills one solo block and one block assist.
Destiny Harris (Baltimore, Md./Edmondson HS) contributed with three digs and one assist in the match.
Destiny Hutchins (Baltimore, Md./Mervo HS) completed the night with four digs, two kills and one ace and
Courtney Crawford (Lanham, Md./Archbishop Carroll HS) had four solo blocks, two kills and one block assist.
Stackhouse also led the team in kills with six and had three digs with one solo block and one block assist. Basarath chipped in with seven digs and five kills.
Alston had 11 assists, eight digs and four kills and Dorsey finished with a team-high 18 digs and one kill.
The Lady Panthers return home for a Saturday afternoon game on October, 3
rd against the Lady Lakers of Garrett College in the P.E. Center on 1 p.m.
