Box Score Lady Panthers Win First Conference Game in Nail
Biting Five Sets
BALTIMORE, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College women's volleyball team defeated Anne Arundel Community College in five sets with a 3-2 victory 25-22, 20-25, 23-25, 25-19, 15-10) on Thursday night. The win gave BCCC their first conference win of the season.
The Lady Panthers have shown their growth as a team. Against the Lady Riverhawks, the Lady Panthers won the first set with help from returning sophomores
Jasmine Alston (Baltimore, Md./Mervo HS),
LaShay Stackhouse (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS), and
Courtney Crawford (Lanham, Md./Archbishop Carroll HS).
BCCC scored on 46.0 percent of their serves.
Charlida Basarath (Baltimore, Md./Dulaney HS) and
Kierra Glasgow-Gibson (Baltimore, Md./Mervo HS) led the team with two aces apiece and
Aminah Carter (Baltimore, Md./ Baltimore City College) helped carve out the win with one ace and fifteen digs.
Incoming freshman
Alayah Walker (Baltimore,Md,/Western HS) helped lead the team to a victory with seven kills and three digs and one solo block. Stackhouse also led the team in kills with seven and had one dig with four solo blocks. Basarath chipped in with four digs and one kill.
Alston had 18 assists, seven digs, and four kills. Glasgow-Gibson ended with two kills and eight digs.
The Lady Panthers remain home for a Saturday afternoon tri-match on September 17th against CCBC Essex and Bryant & Stratton College in the P.E. Center starting at 1 p.m.
