Lady Panthers Get First Win in Dragon Invitational

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 COLUMBIA,MD - The Baltimore City Community College women's volleyball team took part in the 14th Annual Dragon Invitational over the weekend in Columbia, MD. BCCC was defeated in three of the four matches and their record now stands 1-4 on the season.  This marks Tarese Smith's first win as head coach.

The Lady Panthers put up a fight with Harford Community College by winning the first two sets (25-18, 25-29), but then lost the momentum in the final three sets  (23-25, 22-25, 3-15). Saturday also included a loss to College of Southern Maryland in four sets (23-25, 25-19, 25-8,25-14). Sunday proved to be a new day for the Lady Panthers as they took down Ocean County College (25-23, 25-19, 26-24), before losing in the Quarter finals to Community College of Rhode Island (9-25, 22-25, 25-23 and 13-25).

LaShay Stackhouse (Baltimore, Md. / Paul Laurence Dunbar HS) had a team-high 26 kills while adding 19 digs and 11 blocks.

Alayah Walker (Baltimore, Md. /Western HS) finished with 19 kills and 33 digs and five blocks. Jasmine Alston (Baltimore, Md. /Mervo HS) recorded 34 digs and a team high of 38 assists and nine kills and four blocks. Aminah Carter (Baltimore, Md. / Baltimore City College) had a team high of 61 digs and one kill and two assists. Charlida Basarath (Baltimore, Md. / Dulaney HS)  had 51 digs and seven kills and one assist. Destiny Harris (Baltimore, Md. / Edmondson HS) had a team-high of 38 digs to go along with four kills. 
 
Stackhouse was named to the All-Tournament team.
