Eackles scores 21 off the bench; Panthers win sixth in a row with 86-81 win over Nova

BALTIMORE, MD - Lelan Eackles may not be a starter for the Panthers, but on Sunday night he showed that he sure knows how to finish.

The Freshman had 21 points (9-13 FG) and 6 rebounds to lead the Panthers to their 86-81 win over Northern Virginia for their sixth win a row. Head Coach Terry Maczko said, "Lelan has gotten better every game, he's becoming more aggressive and making an impact on the game."

"No secret to it" said Eackles when asked about his inspired performance. "I was just out there hustling."

Eackles was one of four Panthers to score in double figures on the night, but it took the valiant effort of all 9 players that touched the court to get the victory tonight as the Panthers are now 6-1 on the season. Sophomores Joe Adedayo and Victor Okafor scored 15 points each and Sophomore Desmond Rene filled the stat sheet with 11 points, 9 assists, and 5 rebounds.

The Panthers will hit the road for the next four games starting Tuesday, November 27th at Dundalk. Then November 29th through December 1st they'll be in New York for the Monroe Tournament where they'll matchup against all fellow Division 1 opponents. This will include a matchup against ASA, a rematch of last year's District 3 Championship game won by the Panthers 76-68.
