Panthers Split in Season Opener in West Memphis, AR

The Panthers opened up their 2018-19 season with a loss Friday night against Arkansas St. University Mid-South in the Greyhound Tip-off Classic 80-67 in West Memphis, AR.

The Panthers led 40-38 at the half, but were unable to sustain the lead due to an off shooting night, especially from beyond the arc where they were just 6-25 (24%) from 3-pt range. Mohamed Camara led the Panthers in scoring with 15 points and also had 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Desmond Rene and Ahmad Williams scored 12 and 10 points respectively. Ndongo Ndaw was the leading rebounder for the Panthers with 9 rebounds.

On Saturday afternoon in their second game of the Greyhound Tip-off Classic the Panthers were clicking on all cylinders against North Arkansas College falling just shy of the century mark in their 98-85 win.

The Panthers next game will be their 2018-19 home debut Monday night against the Skipjacks of Chesapeake College at 7pm.
