Box Score The BCCC Panthers lost tonight. They were beaten by the Owls of Harford College. The final score was 95-84. The game was not one for the highlight reel for either team. There were plenty of turnovers and lots of mental errors that both teams would like to forget. The Panthers unfortunately had more turnovers and miscues than Harford and the result was a double digit loss that stings for the team.

The first half was very tight. Neither team could break a 14 point tie for more than 3 minutes. The Owls gained some momentum towards the middle of the first half and had a slight lead but the Panthers came back and it was a one point game at half-time. The second half it looked as though the Panthers were getting comfortable and getting into a rhythm. At one point they lead by 7 but let that lead slip with some bad shot choices and unnecessary fouls that erased that lead and soon put them behind by 8. The final three minutes of the game were more like the first three minutes for the Panthers. They struggled to make outside shots and couldn't get inside enough to make up the deficit. The Owls continued to drive to the basket in anticipation of getting to the foul line where they made 85% of their shots. Conversely, the Panthers missed 13 free throws shooting 60% slightly higher than their season average 58%. This is definitely something they need to improve on before the Christmas break.

The team was led by Freshmen Jo Nathan Kelly who put up 22 points on 7 of 15 shots and 5 of 8 at the charity stripe. He was joined by Carson Smith 16 points, Thomas Reid 13 points and Wendell Tomlin 12 points in the double figures category.

The loss is the fourth in a row for the team and moves their record to 3-5 for the season. They next take the floor against Garrett College this Saturday at the PE Center. Game time 3:00 pm.
