Box Score The Panthers traveled up Highway 70 to Hagerstown Maryland to take on the Hawks. The team was missing its second leading scorer, Freshmen
Jo-Nathan Kelly due to a nagging injury. Unfortunately for the team his 15 points per game average would have been the difference if he had played. The Panthers never seemed to get into a rhythm on offense. The couldn't penetrate the defense of the Hawks and when they did easy layups seem to kiss the wrong side of the glass. Jump shots from outside were not falling and withing the first 10 minutes, they were down by as much as 22 points before making a charge that got them within 8 points and the end of the half.
The second half was almost a repeat of the first. They fell behind by 20 points and made a charge with 5 minutes left on the clock. With 3:30 left on the clock the Panthers were down by the same 8 points. They again missed two easy point blank layups and turned the ball over twice and were once again down by double figures. They played a good defensive game, keeping the Hawks to 72 points, but couldn't get things going on the other end. The final score was 73-62. The team was lead by Sophomore
Thomas Reid, who put up 16 points. He was joined in double figures by Sophomores
David Harris and
Carson Smith who contributed 14 and 13 points respectively.
Tomorrow the team will once again hit the road, this time its interstate 95 to Pennsylvania to take on Harcum College just outside of Philadelphia in the town of Bryn Mawr. The game time is 5:00 pm.
