BALTIMORE, MD — Baltimore City Community College fought from start to finish on Friday night, but a dominant Harford squad pulled away early as the Panthers fell 82–30 at home.
BCCC opened the game with flashes of promise, taking a 3–0 lead in the opening minutes after a basket from
Rania Kasiba. But Harford's pressure defense quickly shifted the momentum. The Fighting Owls forced turnovers, found rhythm in transition, and surged ahead to a 23–8 lead after the first quarter.
Despite the score, Baltimore City showed grit on the boards, finishing with 41 total rebounds, highlighted by
Kayla Johnson's 12-rebound effort and
Rania Kasiba's 11 boards. The Panthers' hustle inside kept possessions alive and limited Harford's second-chance opportunities.
Offensively,
Promise Whitmore led the way for BCCC, scoring 14 points, including a 10-for-18 performance from the free-throw line. She added three assists, two steals, and a pair of blocks in her 40-minute effort.
Pashence Perry added six rebounds, four steals, and five points, while Johnson posted two points to go with her 10 defensive rebounds.
The Panthers' strongest surge came in the third quarter, where they scored 12 points—their highest output of any period—largely driven by aggressive play from Whitmore at the line and timely defense that produced transition chances. Harford, however, continued to convert turnovers into points, finishing with 46 points off giveaways, which proved to be the difference as the Owls steadily extended their advantage through all four quarters
Baltimore City now looks ahead to regrouping as they continue their early-season schedule, next hosting Prince George's on Tuesday, November 25 at 5 PM.
