NEWARK, Del. – The Baltimore City Community College men's basketball program made 48.2% of its field goal attempts, sank half of its 12 long range shots, and produced a +7 rebounding margin, but it was not enough to overcome Delaware Tech Hawks on the road in the regular season opener, 76-73.

• Jamar Payen made a great first impression is his collegiate debut on the hardwood, draining 53.8% of his field goals en route to a team-high 20 points, five steals and three assists while managing a pair of boards as well.

 

• Anthony Baker led the way in the rebounding department at a half-dozen, adding an equal number of points to the scoreboard and marking his first career multi-triple game as he splashed both shots from downtown.

 

• Lebarron Gordon set career highs in both points scored (9) and blocks (2) during his debut appearance of the Sophomore campaign, corralling four defensive rebounds in the process.

 

• Antonio Fliggins (8), Jamari Seri (7), and Gabriel Byrd (6) all combined to score 21 points between the trio whereas Byrd one point per every two minutes on the court.
