BALTIMORE, MD - Baltimore City Community College put together its most complete performance of the season Saturday night, pulling away in the second half for a 92–80 win over Community College of Allegheny County in Baltimore.
The Panthers led 40–35 at halftime before turning up the tempo after the break, scoring 52 points in the second half to secure the victory. Baltimore City shot 48.3 percent from the field and capitalized at the free-throw line, going 10 of 14, while consistently finding quality looks in transition.
Josiah McClendon paced BCCC with 22 points, providing a steady offensive presence throughout the game. Dyami Fox followed with 21 points, doing much of his damage attacking the paint and finishing through contact. Kasson James added 12 points, and Karson Collins chipped in 10 as the Panthers placed four players in double figures.
Baltimore City created separation midway through the second half with a balanced scoring stretch, answering each Allegheny County push with baskets on the other end. The Panthers also controlled key possessions late, limiting second chances and converting from the line to keep the visitors at bay.
Allegheny County, which entered the game 8–2 overall, was held to 35 points in the first half and never regained the lead after intermission.
The win marked Baltimore City's first of the season and give the Panthers momentum as they turn around on less than a day's rest to host Westchester on Sunday, Devember 21 at 3 PM.
