Panthers Fall Short Against CCAC 63-34

BALTIMORE, MD - Baltimore City Community College couldn't overcome a cold shooting start and fell 63–34 to Community College of Allegheny County on Friday afternoon in Baltimore.

The Panthers struggled to find offense early, managing just six points in the first quarter and two more in the second as Allegheny County built a commanding 41–8 halftime lead. BCCC shot 16.2 percent from the field in the opening half and committed 20 turnovers overall, which the visitors converted into 29 points.

Promise Whitmore led Baltimore City with 23 points, hitting four 3-pointers and scoring 11 in the fourth quarter as the Panthers continued to compete late. Aries Weddington added a strong effort on the glass with 16 rebounds, helping BCCC control the boards in the second half.

Baltimore City showed improved energy after the break, outscoring Allegheny County 12–9 in the third quarter and 14–13 in the fourth. Whitmore knocked down back-to-back 3s during a third-quarter stretch that briefly cut into the deficit, and the Panthers closed the game with better ball movement and defensive pressure.

Allegheny County was paced by Mylee Young's 22 points, while Katie Johnson added 13 points and 18 rebounds as the visitors pulled away early and maintained control throughout.

Baltimore City Community College will look to rebound with short rest as they host Westchester on Sunday, December 21 at 1 PM.
