BALTIMORE, Md. — Baltimore City Community College struggled to find consistent offense Wednesday evening, falling 94–28 to visiting Chesapeake College in a Region XX matchup at the PE Center.
Chesapeake's pressure defense set the tone early, forcing a flurry of turnovers that helped the Skipjacks open a double-digit lead in the first quarter. Baltimore City committed 14 turnovers in the opening period and never recovered, trailing 13–6 after one.
Pashence Perry was the standout for the Panthers, finishing with 10 points and nine rebounds while battling through the Skipjacks' size and length inside.
Rania Kasiba added 12 points, nine rebounds and four blocks in a strong two-way effort, and
Aries Weddington pulled down 10 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Baltimore City controlled the glass at times, grabbing 46 total rebounds, including 17 on the offensive end. But the Panthers were unable to convert second-chance opportunities and were held to 24% shooting from the field. Chesapeake, meanwhile, piled up 62 points in the paint and turned 54 Baltimore City turnovers into 49 points.
Promise Whitmore chipped in four points, five rebounds and three steals, while
Aniyah Davis added two points and two steals off the bench.
Baltimore City (0–7) will look to rebound at Harcum College on Friday, December 5 at 12 PM.
