Coach Wooten has spent the last 2 years as the Head Boys Varsity Coach at Franklin High School building the program in Baltimore County. Prior to that, Coach Wooten was the Head Varsity Coach at Carver Vo-Tech in Baltimore City. Coach Wooten’s programs have accomplished multiple double-digit winning seasons. Under Coach Wooten’s leadership, Caver Vo-Tech also won a District Championship for both Varsity and JV in his first year as the Head Coach, something which had not been done in over 30 years. In 2015 Coach Wooten was selected to be a Co-Coach of the Baltimore City All-Star Team, which went on to win the City vs County All-Star Challenge. Coach Wooten was recently selected to be the Head Coach of the Assist DMV All-Star Team, a team composed of highly recruited seniors from all across the DMV area to compete in front of multiple college coaches at all levels in a winner take all showcase in Richmond, VA.
Coach Wooten and his staff were responsible for creating Carver Vo-Techs first ever annual Christmas tournament which was highly attended by public and private schools of all levels. Prior to being the Head Coach at Carver, Coach Wooten was an assistant Varsity Coach at Franklin for two years.
Coach Wooten obtained his bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in 09’. Coach also holds a Master’s in Health Administration Informatics from University of Maryland in 13’. Coach Wooten is a proud Navy Veteran with 10 years of active duty service. Two of those years were spent of the flight deck of the most famous aircraft carrier within the Navy, the USS Enterprise CVN 65.
Coach Wooten played two years of college basketball at Delta College in Bay City, Michigan and was being recruited at the Div II and NAIA level before injuries halted his playing career. Coach Wooten graduated from Buena Vista High School in Saginaw, Michigan in 1995.
