DUNDALK, Md. – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team dropped its season opener 64-24 at CCBC-Dundalk on Thursday night at the CCBC-Dundalk Gymnasium.
The Lady Panthers (0-1) had a rough outing and shot just 9-of-42 (21.4 percent) from the field, including 2-of-12 (16.7 percent) from 3-point range. They were also plagued by 40 turnovers.
CCBC-Dundalk (1-0) connected on 25 of their 69 field goal attempts (36.2 percent) and outrebounded BCCC 48-35.
Nicole Tyndle led all players with 20 points, while Cassie Anderson had 13 points, all in the second half, for the Lions.
Keyontay Dunaway (Baltimore, Md.) scored a team-high 10 points for BCCC. Lachell Haynes (New York, N.Y) led the Lady Panther defense with 10 rebounds. Sheena Belton (Baltimore, Md.), a member of the 2010 BCCC volleyball team, contributed two points and two rebounds.
The Lady Panthers host Harcum College in their home opener on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m.
