BCCC Women Fall 68-38 to Cecil College

BALTIMORE, Md. – Iesha Butler scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help the Cecil College women's basketball team to a 68-38 win over Baltimore City Community College on Saturday afternoon at the BCCC P.E. Center.

Cecil improved to 6-3 overall and 1-1 in the MD JUCO conference with the win, while BCCC fell to 0-9, 0-3.

The Lady Seahawks got on the board first with a jumper by Shantia White with 18:57 left in the first half. The Lady Panthers struck 10 seconds later when Aissata Dicko (Bamako, Mali) hit a jumper to tie the game at 2-all. Cecil took the lead on a free throw by Butler and went on to outscore BCCC 33-14 over the last 17:25 of the opening period.

The Lady Panthers kept things closer in the second half, but they could not overcome the large first-half deficit.

Kayla Chambers had a game-high 11 rebounds for Cecil.

Keyontay Dunaway (Baltimore, Md./Carver HS) and Daryl Faulkner (Baltimore, Md./Edmonson-Westside HS) each had 10 points for BCCC. Sarah Hunt-FoFana (Bronx, N.Y.) added six points and nine rebounds.

BCCC takes on Anne Arundel Community College at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at the BCCC P.E. Center.
