BALTIMORE, Md. – Nicole Greer had a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds while teammate Jackie Webber recorded 13 points and 17 boards to lead the Anne Arundel Community College women's basketball team to a 77-45 win over Baltimore City Community College on Wednesday night at the BCCC P.E. Center.
AACC (3-5, 2-3 MDJUCO) took a modest 10-point lead (33-23) into halftime, but outscored BCCC (0-10, 0-4 MDJUCO) 44-22 in the second half for the win. The Lady Panthers had fewer turnovers (24) and more steals (15) than the Pioneers (26, eight), but got beat on the boards 65-48.
Nina Heron and Alysha Sears also scored in double figures for AACC with 14 and 10 points, respectively.
For BCCC, Sarah Hunt-FoFana (Bronx, N.Y.) had her first double-double of the season with 17 points (game-high) and 13 rebounds in a game- and career-high 40 minutes. Daryl Faulkner (Baltimore, Md./Edmonson-Westside HS) contributed 13 points and six rebounds.
The Lady Panthers are hosting the annual Charm City Classic this weekend. The participating teams include Frederick CC, Northern Virginia CC, Potomac State College, College of Southern Maryland and Tidewater CC. The games are at 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday and 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Lady Panthers play in the late game each day.
Admission for the Charm City Classic is $5 per day. BCCC students, faculty and staff will be admitted for free with a valid ID.
