Dean Shines in Loss to Montgomery College-Rockville

BALTIMORE, Md. – Baltimore City Community College sophomore Brittany Dean (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) scored a team- and career-high 18 points and grabbed five rebounds in a 97-49 loss to Montgomery College-Rockville on Wednesday night at the BCCC P.E. Center.

Dean, one of only five Lady Panthers dressed for the game, missed the last eight minutes of the first half after dislocating her shoulder. She returned after halftime and scored 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the field, including 2-of-2 from 3-point range. She played a total of 32 minutes for the game.

The game was close early on, but Rockville (12-4, 6-2 MD JUCO) took a 23-point lead, 48-25, into halftime. BCCC (0-19, 0-7 MD JUCO) could not overcome the large first-half deficit and were outscored 49-24 in the second half.

The Lady Knights' starting five all scored in double figures, led by Alexandra Silva with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Porcha Davis had her own double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds. Yasmene Harris dropped in 16 points, while Faye Dunston and Sarah Chan had 12 and 10, respectively.

Sarah Hunt-FoFana (Bronx, N.Y.) was the other Lady Panther to score in double figures with 14 points and a team-high 10 rebounds.

BCCC travels to Hagerstown, Md. for a 6 p.m. matchup with Hagerstown Community College.
