BALTIMORE, Md. – Ashley Hines had game-highs of 25 points and 21 rebounds to lead the Potomac State College women's basketball team to a 65-62 win over Baltimore City Community College on Saturday night in the 2011 Charm City Classic. Hines was 7-of-21 from the floor for the game and 11-of-19 from the free throw line.

PSC (5-3) started off the game on a 6-0 run, but BCCC (2-10) quickly caught up and took the lead after a 3-pointer by Nikita Brady (Baltimore, Md./Southwestern HS) to go up 12-10 with 7:58 left in the first half. A jumper by Tashay Smith (Baltimore, Md./Overlea HS) put the Lady Panthers up by six, 32-26, at halftime.

BCCC maintained the lead until a layup by Hines tied the game at 46-all at the 9:25 mark in the second half. There would be two more ties in the period. The second came after Brady drained another 3-pointer to bring the score to 62-all.

Hines was fouled after a missed shot by Ruth Wheeler and connected on one of two free throws to give PSC a 63-62 lead. Ali St. Van came down with the offensive board and was fouled by Sarah Hunt-Fofana (Bronx, N.Y./J.F.K. HS) with 12 seconds left. St. Van made both of the shots to end the scoring for the game.

Hunt-Fofana tried to tie the game with a desperation 3-pointer, but missed, sealing the win for PSC.

St. Van was the only other PSC player to score in double figures. She finished with 10 points, three rebounds and two steals.

For BCCC, Keyontay Dunaway (Baltimore, Md./Carver HS) had 11 points, while Brady and Shamera O'Neal (Baltimore, Md./Southwestern HS) had 10 points apiece. Brady grabbed nine boards and O'Neal added 10.

The Lady Panthers wrap up tournament play tomorrow at 4 p.m. when they host Tidewater Community College. Admission for the Charm City Classic is $5 per day. BCCC students, faculty and staff will be admitted for free with a valid ID.
