BALTIMORE, Md. – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team posted a 62-31 win over Tidewater Community College in the final game of the 2011 BCCC Charm City Classic on Sunday afternoon at the BCCC P.E. Center.
The game was close in the first half with TCC (0-5) coming within four (18-14) after a layup by Latera Campbell with 5:55 left in the period. But BCCC (3-10) went on a 16-6 run to take a 34-20 lead into halftime.
The Lady Storm could get no closer in than 15 in the second half and the Lady Panthers recorded their third win in five days.
For TCC, Campbell had a game-high 19 points and added nine rebounds and five steals. Danielle Brown also had nine boards to go with her seven points.
Keyontay Dunaway (Baltimore, Md./Carver HS), Jamia Lawson (Baltimore, Md./Coppin Academy) and Shamera O'Neal (Baltimore, Md./Southwestern HS) each had 11 points for BCCC. Sarah Hunt-Fofana (Bronx, N.Y./J.F.K. HS) added 10 points and three rebounds. Lawson just missed a double-double with nine boards.
Tashay Smith (Baltimore, Md./Overlea HS) had six points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in a career-high 28 minutes.
The Lady Panthers are off for exams this week. They travel to Bolivia, N.C. to play in the Brunswick CC tournament on Friday and Saturday.
